Mark Anderson received his Ph.D. from the Department of Physics in May 1982. He was honored by
the Department of Physics Graduate Support Award endowment and to show his appreciation, he started the Mark Anderson
Outstanding Thesis Award. After graduating, Dr. Anderson began working at Spectra-Physics Optics in Oroville, CA. He now
resides in Ocean City, MD.
ASU graduate physics students who have defended or will be defending their thesis in the 2008-2009
academic year are eligible to apply for the Mark Anderson Outstanding Thesis Award. The amount of this award may fluctuate
slightly from year to year, but is approximately $200.
The deadline for the 2008-2009 academic year is: Monday, February 18, 2008.
Application must be RECEIVED by 5:00 p.m. on the day it is due, and include:
- General Application APPLY NOW!
- Transcripts of all relevant work (unofficial copies are acceptable)
- A brief statement, explaining why you should be considered for this scholarship - include any career plans.
- A nomination letter from your committee chair
- A copy of your thesis
Applications (and required materials and letters) received after the above date will not be
considered.
