Colloquia & Seminars

Colloquia

The Department of Physics hosts colloquia every semester. Each semester speakers from around the world from various physics topics are asked to give a talk on relevant and innovative research. Colloquiums are held Thursdays, with light refreshments served.

Biological Physics Seminar

The Biological Physics Seminar is a multidisciplinary seminar series with broadly defined topics. They include biological and soft matter physics, biophysics, structural and computational biology with equal emphasis on experimental and theoretical and computational approaches. The Biological Physics Seminar is organized by the Center for Biological Physics and co-sponsored by the Department of Physics and the Center for Applied Structural Discovery (CASD).

Cosmology Seminar

The Cosmology Initiative hosts this multidisciplinary series, covering innovative research and discoveries in the fields of astrophysics, cosmology, and particle physics, and featuring speakers from notable universities across the globe.

Nanoscience Seminar

The Nanoscience Seminar is co-sponsored by the LeRoy Eyring Center for Solid State Science, School Of Molecular Sciences and Advanced Materials Initiative. Held on Monday afternoons, this is a multidisciplinary seminar series on Nanoscale Science and Nanotechnology.
